Welcome to Divine Prayer. By downloading, installing, or using this application, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

Divine Prayer is a free devotional mobile application that provides information about Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain deities, sacred scriptures, illustrated mythological stories, prayer tools, meditation timers, temple finder, festival calendar, and community features. The app is designed for spiritual education and personal devotional practice.

2. User Accounts

• The app uses anonymous authentication. No registration, email, or password is required.
• Your anonymous account is tied to your device. Uninstalling the app may result in loss of your anonymous identity.
• You may optionally provide a display name for community features.

3. Community Guidelines

When using community features (prayer wall, deity stories), you agree to:

• Post content that is respectful, spiritual, and appropriate for a devotional context.
• Not post spam, advertisements, hate speech, or offensive content.
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
• Not harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Respect all religious traditions represented in the app (Hindu, Buddhist, Jain).

Content that violates these guidelines may be hidden or removed. Users who repeatedly violate guidelines may have their anonymous accounts restricted.

4. Content & Intellectual Property

• Sacred Texts — Scripture verses (Bhagavad Gita, Dhammapada, Tattvartha Sutra, Upanishads, Ramayana, Hanuman Chalisa) are from traditional sources and are in the public domain.
• Illustrated Stories — Story narratives are original works created for this app. Cover images are generated using DALL-E AI.
• Deity Information — Deity descriptions, mantras, and prayer texts are based on traditional Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain sources.
• Audio — Mantra audio is sourced from Internet Archive under Creative Commons / public domain licenses.
• User Content — By posting prayers or stories, you grant Divine Prayer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content within the app.

5. Content Moderation

• Community content is filtered by an automated client-side filter.
• Users can report inappropriate content using the in-app reporting feature.
• Content receiving 3 or more reports is automatically hidden.
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or hack the app.
• Interfere with the app's infrastructure or other users' experience.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the app's community features.
• Use the app to distribute malware or harmful content.

7. Location Services

The Temple Finder feature uses your device's GPS to find nearby temples via Google Maps/Places API. Location data is used only during active searches, is not stored on our servers, and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

8. Push Notifications

The app may send local push notifications for festival reminders and daily mantra reminders. These are processed entirely on your device. You can manage notification preferences in the app's Settings screen at any time.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of spiritual content, but we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. The app is for personal devotional use and should not be considered a substitute for guidance from qualified spiritual teachers or religious authorities.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Divine Prayer and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, spiritual distress, or reliance on app content.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the app for users who violate these terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pune, Maharashtra, India.
